Western Welcome 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Join fellow alumni in the Welcome Center to register (if you haven’t already), pick up your nametag for the weekend, pick up a schedule for the weekend, browse through old yearbooks and take an alumni tour to learn more about recent changes on campus. *
Parade down Main Street 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Join your fellow mountaineers on Main Street for the annual Homecoming Parade. If you would like to have a float in the parade, follow the link to register on the confirmation page after you register. *
Club & Mountain Sports Reunion 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Calling all former club and mountain sports athletes at Western Colorado University. Come join us at the Club & Mountain Sports Reunion on Friday night hosted in the new Paul M. Rady building, everyone is welcome, from bowling to figure skating, dance team, ski team, intramurals and more! *
The Lighting of the W Party 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Take in the traditional lighting of the “W” on Tenderfoot Mountain from the new Paul M. Rady building while enjoying complimentary food and drink along with the company of fellow alumni.
Saturday, October 8
Mountaineer 5K 9:00 a.m.
Registration is open for the Sixth Annual Mountaineer 5k set for 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8. Registration is $25 for adults and $10 for students. All entrants will receive a Mountaineer T-shirt, and all fans, students and community members of all ages and ability levels are encouraged to sign up. *
Class of 1972 & 1997 Reunions 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Join us to celebrate the class of 1972’s 50th-year reunion and the class of 1997’s 25th-year reunion in the West Wing of the Library. Mingle with classmates and enjoy some bagels and bubbles before the tailgate kicks off. *
Ski Team Social 10:30 a.m.
Join your fellow Western Ski Team alums for a social at 10:30 a.m. to get together to reminisce and reconnect with former team members and enjoy a slideshow of photos from competitions throughout the years. *
Alumni Rugby Game 11:00 a.m.
Annual Alumni Rugby Game and commemorative ceremony for Greg White. This game will take place on the Rugby Pitch on Athletic Drive at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 8.
Homecoming Tailgate 11:00 a.m.
This year’s tailgate will be taking place in the Paul Wright Gymnasium parking lot starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 8. Our Mountaineers are taking on South Dakota Mines for this year’s homecoming game. Food and beverages will be available. *
Homecoming Football Game 1:00 p.m.
Our Mountaineers are taking on South Dakota Mines for this year’s homecoming game. The kick-off is Saturday, October 8, at 1 pm, tickets are limited due to the Mountaineer Bowl construction. *
Tom Prather’s Memorial with Geology Alumni 4:00 p.m.
We will have a memorial for Professor emeriti Tom Prather. Tom taught at Western for over three decades and was the author of “Geology of the Gunnison Country. This memorial will take place at 4:00 p.m. at the Aspinall-Wilson building on campus. *
Alumni Lacrosse Game 7:00 p.m.
Western Lacrosse Alumni are traveling from all over the country for Homecoming festivities to compete in a Lacrosse game against our up-and-coming current team. Anyone and everyone are welcome to attend. This event will take place Saturday, October 8 at 7 p.m. on the Katy O. Rady Soccer Field. *
Homecoming Concert 7:30 p.m.
Cross Country/Track & Field’s 5th annual Homecoming concert with Boogie Machine (Colorado’s top Disco/Funk band). All ticket sales proceeds will benefit Western’s XC and Track & Field Programs.
