Vandenbusche Van Tour: Taylor Park

Join us for this series of tours around Crested Butte and the Gunnison Valley featuring historian Duane Vandenbusche.

This tour will be centered around the history of Taylor Park and Spring Creek: Valley of the Gods.

Topics will include Bomber Crash in Taylor Canyon, a tour of the Taylor Dam, the Taylor Reservoir, Tin Cup Town Hall, Dorchester (North end of Taylor Park) Star & Enterprise Mines, and Deadman’s Gulch.

The tour will officially begin at 9am, however you are invited for a roundtable breakfast session with Duane beginning at 8am.

Breakfast is not included in the cost of this ticket, you must cover the cost of your breakfast, but lunch and transport is included.

Duane will go over his topics for the day during his roundtable session from 8am-9am.

All participants, whether joining for the breakfast roundtable or not, will meet at The Almont and depart at 9am in the van to make stops along the way. Van transportation will be included with this tour, however, you are welcome to transport yourself if you choose to do so.

A sack-lunch will also be provided with the tour: sandwich, chips or another side, and a drink. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements so we can accommodate your lunch. The tour will end around 3pm.
