Tony’s Speakeasy, A Black and White Affair

Jul 2, 2024
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Our annual community celebration – historically known as the “Black and White Ball” – is taking a trip back in time. We’re turning the clock back 100 years to bring you Tony’s Speakeasy: A Black and White Affair on July 2, 2024 from 6pm-10pm.

Tony’s Speakeasy, (previously known and held as “The Black and White Ball”) is an annual celebration and fundraiser commemorating the anniversary of making historic Tony’s Conoco the museum’s forever home. In June of 2003, the Crested Butte Museum moved from the old depot to the heart of Crested Butte, preserving the old hardware store in the center of town.

The event will celebrate Tony Mihelich, who owned and operated Tony’s Conoco for 56 in the very same building the museum has called home for the last two decades. The event will also serve to celebrate our current members, and as a membership drive as we work to expand our community of members and supporters.

For those who’ve attended our Black and White parties in year’s past, you’re no stranger to dressing up in your finest black and white. If you’ve never been to our signature community celebration, we invite you to dress in 1920s era black and white flapper dresses, dinner jackets, sequins, top hats, pearls, feathers, tuxes, and bowties. In true Crested Butte-style, costumes and creativity are strongly encouraged.

Tickets will be available to purchase in May 2024.
