The Melting Pot Cook Off

Join us at the museum in collaboration with the Town of Crested Butte for preservation month for this exciting new event featuring local chefs and food creatives making recipes from The Melting Pot Cookbook.

Our participants have chosen a recipe from The Crested Butte Melting Pot Cookbook and put their own creative spin on the recipe in either the sweet or savory category. This book was written by Myrtle M. and Michele Veltri out of an interest in culinary diversity and celebrating the various cultures and ethnicities brought to Crested Butte.

We introduce this community event to Crested Butte to honor the families that contributed to our town’s uniqueness and vibrancy, and to celebrate culinary history and creativity to bond our community through food.

Basic tickets include a sample of each of our 10 participants’ creations, a miniature booklet with original recipes and how each participant modified them, and non-alcoholic beverages. To include beer and wine with your entry, please purchase the alcohol add-on. We will have The Melting Pot Cookbooks for sale at this event.
